People from all walks of life decide to work with us to overcome various difficulties, a commonality being that they all want to make positive changes. We are fully qualified, insured and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists and are accredited members
of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics.
Having experience of offering short and long term counselling, and facilitating groups we receive regular supervision for our work. We are insightful and reflective practitioners and draw on our training and specialist experience in order to build a trusting, confidential and safe environment so that you feel contained and listened to. We balance professionalism with warmth and acceptance.
In therapy...
You can talk about things that may be causing you pain, discomfort, making you feel angry or unhappy. This is an opportunity to think and talk about yourself and your concerns in a way that you often feel you cannot do with other people in your life. It is a place and time just for you, where you are not judged.
Counselling
Counselling is usually a short term therapy option and tends to concentrate more on current difficulties. It means talking to a therapist who is trained to help you talk about yourself and your difficulties. You will be helped to understand your current situation better and move forward in a positive way.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is more in-depth than counselling and we would be able to work with a wider range of issues. During psychotherapy, you will be helped to consider how your life experiences influence your current thoughts, feelings, relationships and behaviour. This understanding will enable you to deal with difficult situations more successfully.
